Tyson Smith is an Atlanta, Georgia native and currently serves as an Associate with F.N.B. Capital Corporation, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of F.N.B. Corporation (NYSE: FNB). In this position, Mr. Smith conducts in-depth research and analysis of private equity and investment opportunities and assists senior professionals in structuring, researching, and negotiating investments in target companies.

Prior to his employment with F.N.B. Capital Corporation, he was an entrepreneur serving as the co-owner of a franchisee territory for a national casual restaurant chain. In this role, Mr. Smith scouted locations, negotiated with contractors, vendors, and lenders while managing the construction process for new stores. Mr. Smith also facilitated human resources and marketing initiatives and managed all financial reporting. Additionally, Mr. Smith was heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the restaurants striving to increase market share and improve the customer experience, while efficiently managing costs.

Prior to this, he served four years as a sell-side equity research analyst for Robert W. Baird, a middle-market investment bank. Mr. Smith focused on fundamental financial analysis in the IT and Business Services industries. As an analyst, Mr. Smith’s team made sector and stock recommendations to clients based on industry contacts, channel checks, and trends, while conducting comprehensive financial modeling, valuation metric tracking, and peer group analysis.

Mr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from The University of Notre Dame where he was a member of the Applied Investment Management program. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA.
