Matthew L. T. Harnett is a Northeast Ohio native and currently serves as a Vice President with F.N.B. Capital Corporation, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of F.N.B. Corporation (NYSE: FNB). In this position, Mr. Harnett conducts in-depth research and analysis of private equity and investment opportunities, assists senior professionals in structuring, researching, and negotiating investments in target companies while facilitating the investment sourcing and marketing activities of the firm. In advising potential clients, Mr. Harnett structures capital financing solutions that include private equity and mezzanine debt for strategic acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, management buyouts, recapitalizations, ownership transfers, and growth capital.

Harnett provides ongoing consulting and strategic insight to portfolio companies including investment banking services for potential acquisitions. Mr. Harnett manages several portfolio investments and is an Observer on the Board of Directors at Realpoint, and is active on other portfolio company boards. Prior to his employment with F.N.B. Capital Corporation, Harnett served for four years at Ford Motor Company, rotating through seven analyst and management positions in Finance, Operations, Service, Sales, and Marketing as part of Ford’s Management Program. During his tenure, he was the direct consultant to over 75 dealers.

Most recently, Mr. Harnett managed the largest zone in the Great Lakes Market - Pittsburgh Region with annual revenues exceeding $300 million, while receiving the “Zone Manager of the Year" award from Ford Operations. In this position he was the direct liaison between Ford and his dealers, being responsible for all communication, transactions, and negotiations. He was also responsible for his zone’s collective market share, customer and dealer satisfaction, and the profitability of his zone and dealers. Dealer satisfaction was his top priority, and he provided ongoing financial, marketing, and operational consulting to his dealer principals. In addition, Mr. Harnett assisted Ford senior management in competitive intelligence and market representation actions for dealer placements and consolidations.

Prior to joining Ford, Mr. Harnett was an Investment Field Analyst for the Danter Company, where he conducted due-diligence and market intelligence for commercial real estate investments. Prior to that, Mr. Harnett earned his National Association of Securities Dealers Series 6 and Life, Health, and Disability Insurance Licenses and became Financial Planner to middle-market businesses and high-net worth individuals for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. Harnett also served as College Unit Director there, managing a team of ten financial planners. Under his leadership, the team’s sales nearly tripled in one year.

Mr. Harnett holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a double-major in Supply Chain Management & Logistics and Marketing from The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business. Harnett subsequently earned his Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School of Business, graduating on the Dean’s List. He currently resides in Wexford, PA.
